Women Transforming Culture Retreat
2020 Lenten Retreat
Friendship: The Freedom of Love
“I do not call you servants any longer, but I call you friends.” (Jn 15:15). In the most intimate setting of the Last Supper, Jesus invites the apostles -and each of us- to a new plane of existence populated, not by objects, tasks and power plays, but by faces, relationships and love. Rediscover the true value of daily life as a place of personal encounter by spending a weekend away with Jesus on retreat.
For this world of ours to set its course in a Christian direction -which is the only one worthwhile- we have to exercise a loyal friendship with all men, based on a prior loyal friendship with God. – St. Josemaría Escrivá, The Forge, 943.
This retreat, sponsored by Beverly Cultural Center, will include Holy Mass, guided reflections on Scripture, presentations on practical ways to live virtue in everyday life, and quiet time for personal prayer. There will be opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and spiritual direction.
Fee: Single room: $550
Double room: $450
Shared room (3 or more): $250
The spiritual activities offered by Beverly Cultural Center are entrusted to Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church, founded in 1928 by St. Josemaría Escrivá, which helps people find God in their everyday lives of work, family life and social relations.
