Emotions: the gift of feeling
Join us for a three-part series which explores the genius and strength of women and provides ways to counteract cultural gender confusion with the truth of what it means to be female in God’s image.
Time & Location
Mar 01, 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM
Beverly Cultural Center, 6904 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036, USA
About the Event
Women have the unique gift of responding to human emotions and seeing the needs of others. However, this is possible if women have the capacity to channel and respond to their own emotions.
Our guest speaker, Linda Raleigh, will discuss emotions as they affect women today. An interesting feature about women and emotions is that many women who struggle with depression or anxiety have a lower sense of mastery over strong emotions. She will discuss how to manage moods more effectively in the face of challenging situations. She will examine the core beliefs which are deeply held assumptions about ourselves or the world which can derail rational thought and put us in frustrating endless loops. She will also examine different types of parenting that we have grown up with and correlate this to our present way of existing in adult relationships. Emotions in prayer and in the interior life will be explored.
