Camaraderie and cocktails? Why not! This spring, Catholic young professionals from around Los Angeles congregated monthly on Beverly Cultural Center's tennis court for Sipping with the Saints. We pored over the history of a female saint venerated that month as we poured out handcrafted cocktails. Sipping under a starry sky, we delved deep into her virtues and her struggles, what made her a saint, and what she can teach us today: St. Elizabeth of Hungary's generous service, St. Josephine Bakhita's power to forgive, St. Joan of Arc's strength of faith, just to name a few. Although, at the end of each evening, we had to wish each other good-bye, these inspiring women will stay with us as models for our own lives.
